Steve Kaplan Voted Finalist for Channel Partners Channel Executive of the Year

PHOENIX, AZ – February 11, 2011 – Channel Partners magazine, a publication of Virgo Publishing LLC for the communications industry’s indirect sales channel, is pleased to announce that Steve Kaplan of TouchTone Communications has been selected as a finalist for Channel Executive of the Year. The 10 finalists will be honored during an awards ceremony wherein the winner will be announced March 13, at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo in Las Vegas.  The finalists and winner also will be featured in the May issue of Channel Partners magazine.

As Agent Sales Manager at TouchTone, Kaplan is responsible for developing and growing the agent channel. The 11 year telecom veteran serves on the front line, welcoming new agents and helping existing ones acclimate to new products and programs.  

But Agents beware; never challenge Steve to a duel. He represented the United States at the ‘76 Montreal Olympic Games as a saber fencer. After hours, Steve is head coach at the Cobra Fencing Club in Jersey City, NJ, which is dedicated to fostering the development of fencing to inner-city children, and focusing on teaching beginners the fundamentals of the sport in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.

“Each year, Channel Partners is honored to announce the finalists for Channel Executive of the Year,” said Khali Henderson, editor in chief of Channel Partners magazine. “After a close race, where hundreds of votes were placed, these individuals clearly stand out as the cream of the crop. Each of the finalists should be recognized for the role they play in the success of the indirect channel model.”

To determine the Channel Executive of the Year, Channel Partners solicited nominations from channel partners. To be eligible, a nominee must have been the top person in the company’s channel operations – at the executive level of vice president or higher – at a communications vendor (network operator/service provider/manufacturer). Channel partners were then asked to vote for the Channel Executive of the Year based on nominees’ leadership, longevity, innovation and contribution to the indirect channel.
