1. What is Hosted PBX Phone Service / How does it work?
TouchTone Hosted PBX is an Internet based phone service (a VoIP technology) that allows users to make and receive calls using their existing high-speed Internet connection instead of a standard landline. The technology converts voice into little packets of data so that it can be sent over the Internet using high-speed or fiber connection. TouchTone's Hosted Phone Service delivers the functions and features of an expensive and sophisticated PBX phone system, but at the fraction of the price. There is no expensive hardware to purchase or to maintain. One of the main benefits of the service is that TouchTone hosts the PBX for you, so there is no need to purchase or to maintain costly telecom equipment. With TouchTone's Hosted Phone Service you'll NEVER OUT GROW your phone system -- ADD and REMOVE users and features as needed!

8. Can I make calls while I’m browsing the Internet?
Yes, you can make calls while browsing the Internet. TouchTone's Hosted Phone Service will not interfere with your other broadband-based services (Internet access, etc.), however, upstream data traffic passing through your Internet connection may affect the quality of your telephone call.
9. What does E-911 compliant mean?
TouchTone Hosted phone service is E-911 (Enhanced 911) compliant, a helpful free feature that provides customers with reliable 911 services (where available). 911 calls are routed to designated Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) such as your local or county police, fire, and rescue departments. E-911 automatically provides PSAPs with the telephone number of the 911 call, and is also capable of transmitting the customer's name and home address to assist in dispatching emergency care.
TouchTone Hosted Phone Service is Internet based and 911/ E911 services work differently than traditional wireline service or Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS). Should the customer lose power or Internet access, these services will be unavailable. In order for the customer to have backup access to 911 and/or emergency services, a customer must maintain another phone line, whether landline or cell phone, for emergency services.
10. Can I make calls if my Internet connection is down?
No, your high-speed Internet connection must be active to place Internet phone calls. If you require immediate assistance please call TouchTone Customer Service at 800-266-4006.
